On June 2th to 4th, 2019, the NSFC-RGC Young Scholars Forum on Energy Materials and Applications, jointly sponsored by the National Natural Science Foundation of China (NSFC) and the Research Grant Council (RGC), was successfully held in Hong Kong by the University of Hong Kong (HKU).

On January 15, 2019, the Workshop on Chemistry of Renewable Energy jointly organized by the National Natural Science Foundation of China (NSFC) and the National Commission for Scientific and Technological Research of Chile (CONICYT) was held in Beijing.
At the invitation of the Max Planck Society, from December 2 to 4, 2018, NSFC Vice President Hou Zengqian attended the 14th Berlin Open Access Conference (B14).
