National Natural Science Foundation of China (NSFC) President Prof. Li Jinghai met with European Organization for Nuclear Research (CERN) Delegation on September 17th, 2018. The delegation was led by Dr. Fabiola Gianotti, Director-General of CERN. Prof. Li gave a welcome address and a brief introduction on the reform plan of NSFC, which was included identification of funding priorities, improvement of evaluation mechanism and optimization of the layout of research areas. Dr. Yang Junlin, Deputy Director-General, Bureau of International Cooperation introduced the progress of international cooperation of NSFC, as well as its cooperation with CERN. The two sides also explored cooperation fields and funding pattern for future collaboration.  

Members of the delegation also included Dr. Wang Yifang, Director of Institute of High Energy Physics, CAS, Dr. Zhao Zhengguo, University of Science & Technology of China, Dr. Gao Yuanning, Peking University. Among NSFC participants in the meeting were from Bureau of International Cooperation and Department of Mathematical and Physical Sciences.
