On March 9, 2018, NSFC Vice President Gao Fu met with the DFG delegation led by Vice President Leena Bruckner-Tuderman. Both sides held discussions on the selection of Chinese doctoral students for the Lindau Nobel Laureate meeting and NSFC-DFG bilateral collaborations.
The Lindau Nobel Laureate meeting is held in Lindau every year and excellent young scientists from all over the world are invited to participate. By recommendation from the university, peer review and interviews by Chinese and German experts, between 25 and 35 excellent doctoral students will be selected from Chinese universities to attend the meeting. The DFG delegation took part in the selection of Chinese doctoral students for 2018 Lindau meeting. Through selection, around 30 doctoral students from Chinese universities will participate in the Lindau Meeting and visit relevant research institutes.
Also on the delegation were Stefan H.E. Kaufmann, representative of the Lindau Nobel Laureate meeting Foundation, Jörg Schneider, Director general of the DFG Bureau of International Cooperation, Ingrid Krüßmann, Deputy Director General of the DFG Bureau of International Cooperation and the German director of the Sino-German Center for Research Promotion, and Petra Hintze, Director of the Department of Medical Sciences of DFG. Feng Feng and Fan Yingjie of the NSFC Bureau of International Cooperation also attended the meeting.
